Now, for something a bit more serious.
I declare war against SPAM, in all of its unholy forms: e-mail, paper junk mail, and telemarketer calls.
I’m going to perform an experiment over the next few weeks. I’m going to tally all the unsolicited junk mail, e-mail, and telemarketer calls Michelle and I receive over the next few weeks. After I get a baseline, I’m going to start taking action and see if it helps at all. I’ll publish my findings here for posterity.
A few popular resources I’ve run across are CAUCE and Junkbusters. The former is more of a legislative lobbying group; the latter is more of a commerical go-between that exists to sell the fact that you don’t want any junk mail to direct marketers. In a way, it’s an interesting service. The direct mail folks will actually pay someone to gain the knowledge that mailing you anything is a wasted effort. Cool.
