Yesterday, Sen. Fritz Hollings introduced

Yesterday, Sen. Fritz Hollings introduced the Consumer Broadband and Digital Television Promotion Act (CBDTPA, S.2048). Write your Congresscritters and tell them that they might as well burn their Constitution for kindling if they vote “yea” on this bill. I would say that I’m on the side of the Republicans on this one; however, the only reason the Republicans hate it is because they didn’t get as much money from Hollywood as the Democrats.

For a great overview on why this is the worst idea in the world for not only consumers, but artists and authors as well, read “When Elephants Dance”.

Coincidentally, the 74th Oscars are tonight. There are too many things to do around the house to really care, so I’ll just watch the outtakes tomorrow.
