Good Weather for Airstrikes

I cannot stop listening to this song. It’s one of the most cinematic pieces of modern music I’ve heard by anything that could be termed a “rock” group. The only thing that surpasses it in my mind is Talk Talk’s Spirit of Eden.

The last three minutes of the song swells with beauty and then collapses under its own weight. I get goosebumps from hearing it. Even though the lyrics are in Icelandic, and the translation may be questionable, there is something about the music that makes me feel hopeful.

“But the best thing that God has created, / is a new day”

Here’s a live MP3 (about 6 MBytes). It’s a little less bombastic than the original, and just sort of ends rather than “collapses” at the end, but it should give you the idea.
