Introducing the iToilet.
In other news: Mac OS X is evidently a long way from reaching operating system nirvana.
This doesn’t surprise me. When I had my G4 and was eagerly awaiting OS X, I thought the Mac was going to kick Windows’ heiney once and for all. Turns out that OS X was stunningly beautiful, but ultimately a dog where it counted most: usability. It reminded me of how Netscape shipped Navigator 6 before Mozilla was done.
So, based on this, I ditched my Mac for a $500 PC I put together myself. Got XP when it came out. I am now happy. I do admit that I was impressed by the Apple Store at the new mall. I even started having pangs of regret for getting rid of my G4. That is now over. I know that, in time, Apple may get all of the kinks out of the system. However, I tire of waiting for “everything to get better”, and, like millions of other computer users, use what is here now and proven (i.e. Microsoft, Linux).
(As a side note, the CTO of my company just bought a new iMac. Wonder what he’ll think? He’s a big geek himself and my office is next door to his, so I’m sure I’ll hear about any problems he has.)
