The Atkins Diet Scares Me

Reading this article that posted has inspired me to change the way I eat. I have long since heard about how “carbohydrates are evil!” from some really overachieving dieters at work, but the fact that they might be right totally freaks me out. Plus, I have inwardly made fun of all the people I know who have actually submitted to the seemingly wacky diet that Atkins recommends.

Nevertheless, I have sharply reduced — but not eliminated — the amount of carbohydrates I’m taking in because I don’t have the heart to go hardcore. I am not doing Atkins yet, because I really feel like I need to have a physical before I start something so extreme.

Can anyone out there tell me what it’s like to reduce your carbohydrate intake? I feel a little weird. Like, right now, my body is trying to figure out what the hell just happened to it. I know that I have to eat breakfast, and I feel somewhat hungry, but not ravenous.

I think I’m going to have an egg, now.
