Salon: A Fool’s Paradise for CEOs. This article explains why I hate Siebel and other “business/productivity improvement” software companies: their products don’t work. Bonus: Scott McNealy comes off as a total ass.
What I find most interesting: most business people have a delusion that there is a “holy grail” software-based solution to streamline business practices. To me, most of the “solutions” seem to be snake oil which require more resources to roll out and use than the “older ways”, and they simply don’t pay off. This is why three out of every four companies who broke their corporate bank to buy Siebel products leave them undeployed or on the shelf.
