For better or for worse, here are my thoughts on September 11 from a year ago, when I was running a weblog using Blogger.

Actually, I wrote this essay on 12 September 2001. In re-reading it, I find that I might have been overreaching, and maybe even a bit bathetic. I was, and still am, saddened by the events of that day. It didn’t help to read some pretty extreme responses regarding the attacks. Many of my wife’s Muslim students didn’t come to school the following day, fearing that they might be subject to bullying.

Lord, have mercy on us humans.
