Two weeks ago, I bought my first laptop computer: a shiny, factory-refurbished 800 MHz 12” iBook. Added 512 MB of RAM with the money I saved from not “buying new”. I am still patiently waiting for my AirPort card, which was supposedly shipped yesterday from a newbie eBayer whose idea of “prompt” is “three weeks after the auction’s end date”. I digress.
The iBook has a name: glossolalia. Say “Hi”. Very nice.
I love iPhoto. I also love Gallery. I’m not the only one out there that wants these two great apps to talk to each other. Did I mention that I just bought a book on Cocoa programming?
What’s this I hear? An invitation to kick some Objective-C ass? Oh yeah! This sounds like a great project. I will learn a new language on a new platform, and it will solve a real problem which will satisfy, at the very least, two people.
Obligatory neurotic aside, to Self: Now here’s the part where I would normally be self-deprecating by saying something like, “If I only had the time…” or “I can’t do it, it’s too hard”, etc. No, no, one-thousand-times no, not this time! I will do this. I can do this. What am I waiting for? The time is there for the taking.
Update: 25 days after I won the auction, my AirPort Card finally shows up in the mail. Huzzah.
