I wanted to find out what time it was. I was logged into a Linux box, so I used date(1). Only I didn’t type in date, I typed in “ddate” and got this odd response:
[atebmed@mp3client-1] $ ddate
Today is Boomtime, the 45th day of The Aftermath in the YOLD 3169
Uh. Right.
[atebmed@mp3client-1] $ man ddate
DDATE Emperor Norton Utilities DDATE
NAME
ddate – converts Gregorian dates to Discordian dates
SYNOPSIS
ddate [+format] [date]
DESCRIPTION
ddate prints the date in Discordian date format.
