1. Recently accomplished.

• Painted the wooden bookcase in the dining room. Still need to paint the edges of the shelves.
• Affixed aforementioned bookcase to the wall.
• Purchased and assembled a bathroom cabinet from Target. It has yet to be hung on the wall.
• Hung up one of three sets of paper blinds ($13 each from Cost Plus World Market) for the nursery.
• Donated a crapload of clothes to charity.
• Worked a bit in the yard. Hey, you can’t pass up being outside on a day in December when the temperatures are in the mid 60s.

2. Recently seen.

• Saw the The Return of the King on Christmas Day. It is a grand spectacle which is necessary to view at your local multiplex. Yes, it does feel a bit long near the end, but stick with it. Oh, and Legolas can really slay the hell out of an Oliphant; you’ll see what I mean.
• Rented and watched Blue Car. Uneven coming-of-age movie which makes you feel somewhat icky in parts.
• Rented and watched The Quiet American. Very good moral tale with no easy answers.
• Saw Cold Mountain tonight. Liked the movie; wished I had read the book first.

3. Recently remembered.

• Today (30 December 2003) is our third wedding anniversary. Michelle and I are doing well. Baby is practicing Kung Fu moves inside Michelle. We are happy.
