The Summer of Isabella

A while back, I posted a short, somewhat cryptic entry, which simply said:

Sometimes, it’s better to get partial credit by doing something a little at a time, than to refuse to do anything until it’s ready.

I wrote this as a reminder to myself, as I have a tendency to put off starting something until everything is perfect. For example, I’ve had a whole boatload of adorable pictures of my daughter for months and months. But each day would go by, and no new pictures would be posted, causing some of my family and friends to write e-mails like this one:

Not to be bitchy or anything, but I thought there were new pictures on the website! I looked all over smerpology and found nothing new!

Are they on snapfish? I wanna see the BABY!!!!

Etc., etc.

What I was waiting for was the time to make a Picture of the Day site similar to this one. Alas, months have gone by, and I still have no pictures on the website, as I never had the time to create the perfect site design. And, since there was no perfection, there were no pictures posted, causing much angst. (But, you can understand my dilemma… right?).

So, in the interest of satiating the rabid fans of IFP1, I’ll be posting a picture of Isabella a day (with an occasional day off) for the forseeable future. Believe me, I have enough material to go on for a while2.

Because I’m not cool enough to redo my blog to handle this, these pictures are just going to be inline with all my other entries. Hopefully, all twenty of you who read this site will not be turned off by THE ABSOLUTE SUPER-ADORABLE CUTENESS3 that is my daughter. I’m also sure that Isabella’s mug will also soften my ever-increasingly shrill postings about how we must not re-elect Bush this Fall4.

So, let get this thing started. We’ll be starting back at the beginning, and moving into more recent territory soon enough. Some of these you may have already seen, but I feel like showing them off again.

Early Tummy Playtime

Isabella and Daddy hang out on the floor. Back in her early days, Isabella would not last too long on her stomach before starting to wail and cry. Photo taken 14 March 2004 by Michelle.

More to come. Enjoy!

3 What can I say? I’m biased, just like every other parent.

4 I make no apologies for my shrillness. Bush sucks, and you know it.
