Number Nine

Last Thursday was Isabella’s nine-month checkup. According to my wife, Isabella was understandably cranky afterward because they gave her two shots and drew blood from her finger.

As you can see from the chart below, she is still growing, but not as alarmingly fast as she seemed to be early on:

age height weight head size
9 months 28¾ in. 19 lb., 3 oz. 17¼ in.
6 months 27¾ in. 18 lb., 2 oz. 16¾ in.
3 months 24 in. 14 lb., 6 oz. 15½ in.
2 months 23½ in. 11 lb., 14 oz. 15 in.

Other milestones:

  • She has been able to pull up to a standing position for about a month now, but she can now sit down from standing without doing a crash landing.
  • She can (slowly) cruise around furniture, such as an ottoman.
  • She can crawl fairly quickly. The cat is alarmed about this.
  • On occasion she has exclaimed “uh-oh!” after dropping something. Also, she went through a phase about a month ago where she said “bye-bye” to people who were leaving the room. She no longer does this, and I’m not sure why.
  • She eats finger food like a champ. She is Ms. Pac-Man^tm^, and Cheerios^tm^ are her power pellets.

Now for the obligatory cute picture:
