At approxiamately 8am this morning, Isabella climbed the entire flight of stairs in her grandmother’s house.
Until this morning, she has barely been interested in the stairs the whole time we’ve been here. Ususally she is too busy chasing the cat around the living room or playing with her new Elmo Cell Phone.
I was sitting at the couch, being geeky on the computer. Isabella had crawled over to the bottom of the stairs and was pounding on the bottom stair with her hands, jabbering away. Mother and Grandmother were upstairs, getting ready to go out. I went back to work, and looked up about a few minutes later to find that SHE HAD CLIMBED UP TWO STEPS. I ran over, and stood behind her. She looked up at me with a face that said, “I Can Do This, So Don’t Worry!” She continued to climb up the stairs the whole way to the top in just under two minutes.
We have film footage of the second time she climbed the stairs, including a terrifying moment where she decides to go DOWN from the top and ends up doing a backflip into my arms. I can’t post it because I forgot to bring my Firewire cable for my video camera, and, as you probably guessed, Albion is not Nerdistan. The nearest cable is (a) located at a Best Buy in Rochester, and (b) is wildly overpriced (DAMN YOU, BELKIN!!!). So, you’ll have to wait until I get home to see this.
