I haven’t done this little meme in a while (since January, actually) so I thought I’d do it again.
Fire up iTunes, Party Shuffle, and go.
- “The District Sleeps Alone Tonight” by The Postal Service (from Give Up). “I was the one worth leaving.”
- “Dear Prudence”, a cover of the original Beatles track performed by Siouxsie & the Banshees (from Hyaena). A fairly faithful remake of the original.
- “Girl” by Beck (from Guero). A solid song from Beck, definately one of the better tracks from his latest.
- “Cadillacs” by Minor (from The Kids EP). Found last fall via music (for robots). A nice quiet little song.
- “Beep Street” by Squarepusher (from Hard Normal Daddy). I’m convinced that this is the sound that my synapses start to make after drinking a few espressos, if my synapses were trying to imitate Miles Davis.
- “Timekiller” by Project Pitchfork (from Daimonion). LET’S GET GOTHIC!
- “The Long Grift” by Tommy Gnosis (from the Motion Picture Soundtrack for Hedwig and the Angry Inch). Initially, this was one of my least favorite songs from the show, but it has grown on me over time. I still prefer “Midnight Radio” or “Angry Inch”.
- “Lonely” by Human Drama (from the Projekt: Gothic sampler). Holy crap. Why is this in my playlist? Oh yes, I remember: I ripped a cube-mate’s copy of the aforementioned sampler. There are a few good tracks on it, but this, sadly, isn’t one of them. I mean, the piano playing is pretty good, but the lyrics are laughable, at best. “Could I be more lonely? / I don’t know…”. Yes, you CAN be more lonely… after this song ends.
- “Love Rhymes With Hideous Car Wreck” by The Blood Brothers (from Crimes). Another m(fr) find. I find this track to be confounding, as I’m not sure I like it.
- “Avminnast” by Nils Økland (from the Runeology 2 sampler). ANOTHER find from m(fr). Andrew would probably like this, since he’s the one that turned me on to the whole Nordic Roots series (which is “still cheaper than food!”).
- “150iii” by PROTMAN (from WHATHAVEIDONE?!). No, wait, this is what my synapses sound like. They need to go home, now.
Oh crap, that’s the end. Time to go home.
The end.
