An Open Letter to Those Who Insist on Using a Certain Suffix When Referring to a Scandal That May Implicate the President

Please stop calling the current scandal of the day Rovegate.

It was stupid when the Republicans called l’affaire Lewinsky “Monicagate” during Clinton’s adminstration, not to mention all the other “-gates” that failed to go anywhere (“Filegate”, “Travelgate”). CBS News’ “Memogate” was dumb, too.

Failure to obey my wishes will result in, well, much consternation and a hurling of epithets. Fie upon thee!
