So, according to the the DHS, New York City has nothing worth protecting, thus justifying a 40% cut in security-related funding. What’s worse, is that when confronted with this obvious balderdash, the DHS blamed New York for screwing up the paperwork.
All is not lost! My hometown saw its share of the pork pie increase:
New York City received $124.5 million from the Department of Homeland Security, about 40 percent less than the $207.5 million it received the year before. Many smaller cities around the country, like Charlotte, N.C., saw their shares increase sharply.
It must be that the terrorists want to destroy the newest cultural icon that signifies the best that America has to offer: the NASCAR Hall of Fame!
