Coming soon to an issue of Vanity Fair: Neo Culpa, in which some of the principal boosters of the current debacle in Iraq play the blame game and point the finger at El Hefe, the President Himself, as the chief architect of the quagmire in which we currently sit. I tend to agree with these men, that, at the end of the day, Mr. Bush should be held responsible for our actions in the world. That said, I hope that Perle, Adelman and Frum are not thinking that they are going to escape the world’s harsh judgment as they are, at best, accessories to the crime that has been committed upon what was once the sovereign nation of Iraq.

While it’s fascinating to see how far these enablers have fallen, even more disarming are the portraits of Bush, Cheney, Condi and Rummy that grace the online article, all taken by Annie Leibovitz. To view them is to stare into madness.
