Your employer’s complementary “free high-speed wireless internet service” is nearly useless for those of us who want to use services that aren’t on ports 21 (ftp), 80 (http), and 443 (https). So, the following things don’t actually work:

• Secure Shell (ssh)
• Virtual Private Networks (e.g. OpenVPN)
• Instant Messaging (e.g. AIM)
• Pretty much anything else I’ve tried, actually

Thus, those who actually want to get work done at the office while they wait for their vehicle to get repaired are pretty much screwed unless their office uses a web-based portal to do everything.

The one thing I can do is complain on my weblog.

However, I do want to say that your blueberry muffins are delicious, and almost negate the inconvenience of not being able to check my e-mail.
